Jennifer Love Hewitt looked a bit sad about leaving Hawaii as she was spotted with husband Brian Halisay and five-month-old daughter Autumn after a week-long stay in Maui. Jennifer just launched a maternity clothing line for A Pea In The Pod. She told People last month she was in no hurry to get back to the gym, preferring to spend time with Autumn, who was born in November.

‘If I have an hour to go to the gym or an hour to lie down and take a nap with her in my arms, I’m going to lie down and take a nap. The most important thing is [Autumn] getting food. It took nine months to get it this way. It might take nine months to get it back.’

Jenna Elfman looked cute at the “Make Your Move” Los Angeles Premiere. Last year, Jenna talked to Shape about her diet and exercise.


I actually just drink water all morning (with fresh lemon juice if it’s available) until about 9:30 a.m., which I have found works really well for me—it may not be the best for others. Then at 9:30 a.m., I’ll have a big scoop of peanut butter. About an hour later, I continue with eating a snack such as a small serving of oatmeal or some fresh vegetables, then lunch, snacks, and dinner as the day progresses.


For snacking, I’ll eat an apple or some berries; I eat millet or buckwheat rice cakes; I try not to eat dairy, so the yogurt thing isn’t really happening for me very often, but I do eat the occasional coconut yogurt. I like pumpkin seeds, peanuts and almonds, fresh cut vegetables, fresh vegetable juice, etc. I also enjoy turkey jerky! Sometimes a bowl of rice makes a great snack for me too.


Well, with my crazy, unpredictable schedule, “typically” doesn’t really apply! But I’ll often eat a variation on a salad or soup theme. I always try to stay away from heavily refined foods and stick to organic whole grains, fruit, vegetables, etc. Not always easy—at all. But I try.


Dinner is actually the trickiest for me because I’m with my kids. Unfortunately they can be finicky eaters, so their food selection isn’t the same as mine and most of my evening is spent tending to their nightly routine of play, dinner, play, bath, bed! By the time I realize I’m hungry, I usually just have time for some puffed rice or millet cereal with honey and almond milk right before bed! Unless I get lucky and my husband happened to have brought home some sushi!

Diet tips:

As for diet, just don’t eat that table bread! Sit on your hands if you have to. Don’t do it! I drink plenty of water—vital. I actually carry a 32-ounce water bottle around with me at all times and try to drink two of those a day. Not easy. But if I have it with me, I can usually do it. And I sip at it, I don’t chug it.

Exercise tips:

For exercise, I walk, climb stairs, hike, dance, and do some strength training exercises and lift free weights. But really, all this only happens when I can make time for it in my day without falling over from already being tired from working and parenting my two young boys. But here’s a little trick for when I am limited on time: I keep two 10-pound weights in my bathroom, and every day I do a quick set of lifting in the morning or when getting ready for bed. Also, I do lunges while brushing my teeth and then I try to do 10 to 15 pushups before bed. If you’re consistent with this shortcut regimen, it’s amazing the results you can accomplish!

Just get out there and walk. Also, while I’m out and about during my day, if there is a choice between taking the elevator/escalator or the stairs, I always take the stairs!

In 2010, Jenna used Freshology home meal delivery service after giving birth to her son. She said:

“Since having my newborn seven weeks ago, I have been eating their ‘New Mommy’ program. The food is super delicious and the baby weight is steadily coming off!”

Kristen Bell looked tiny at the “Veronica Mars” Los Angeles Premiere. The movie was funded by Kickstarter donations and began filming shortly after Kristen gave birth to her daughter in March 2013. So, how did she get in shape so quickly after having her baby? She said:

 “The secret to body after baby is flushing down the toilet every notion of body after baby. Honestly!”

“I made a commitment to not allow my narrative for the year after having a baby to be about my weight. And I think that freed me up and it made me less concerned with all the pressures that revolve around body image. I was like, ‘I have a baby. Do you know how awesome that is? It’s so radical! Why on earth am I going to be so concerned with my pants size?'”

But she did exercise and it shows!

“It’s not like I jog for two hours. If I hit 20 minutes, I will celebrate. I’m trying to do little things…but really, I’m just focusing on the fact that I made another human. That’s awesome.”

Star Magazine: Jessica Simpson’s Diet Disaster

Good old Star Magazine decided to do a cover story about Jessica Simpson’s supposed ‘diet disaster’ in their September 2nd 2013 issue.  I guess they forgot she only gave birth to her second child less than two months ago!

Anyway, the article is claiming that she weighs 178 pounds and is having so much trouble losing the baby weight that she has become ‘a dejected shut-in too embarrassed to leave the house’.  Ouch.  She allegedly can’t stop eating and has constant cravings:

Jessica has been trying to stick to a Weight Watchers PointsPlus program like she did after her first pregnancy, but the junk food lover has found it impossible to conquer her desire for unhealthy food. “Jess tries hard to follow Weight Watchers, but much of the time she isn’t full after the meals,” says her friend, who believes this is when things go downhill.  “She’ll tell herself she can only have one or two fried chicken wings – but once she starts eating them, she’ll gorge on 10 before she stops.”

The article goes on to discuss Jessica’s other eating habits, such as pigging out on cupcakes, cookies and brownies, and how she often eats while watching TV.  It also claims she is obsessed with Kim Kardashian’s baby weight loss and that she’s sneakily planning on doing some liposuction and a tummy tuck, among other things, to get rid of her baby weight.

I couldn’t help laughing and rolling my eyes while reading this article, which is likely a bunch of baloney.
