Bette Midler Apologizes for Slamming Ariana Grande

Bette Midler apologized recently to Ariana Grande for calling her a “whore”. Bette’s initial comment was:

“It’s always surprising to see someone like Ariana Grande with that silly high voice, a very wholesome voice, slithering around on a couch looking so ridiculous. I mean, it’s silly beyond belief and I don’t know who’s telling her to do it. I wish they’d stop. Trust your talent. You don’t have to make a whore out of yourself to get ahead. You really don’t.”

Ariana responded by saying:

“Bette was always a feminist who stood for women being able to do whatever the F they wanted without judgment! I’m not sure where that Bette went but I want that sexy mermaid back!!! always a fan no matter what my love.”

But Bette apologized saying:

“About my screed on @ArianaGrande , all I can say is, ‘Spoken like a reformed old whore! She does have a beautiful voice, on a couch or off.”

Bette recently appeared on Jimmy Fallon and at the SiriusXM studios. She also met the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at the Royal Variety performance. Bette’s tour starts May 2015.

U2’s Bono on the Mend, U2 Announces New World Tour

Bono arriving at Band Aid 30 recording session

Following a cycling injury that resulted in a 5-hour surgery, Bono is healing well and will be ready in time for U2’s new world tour, which was just announced. The Edge told KROQ:

‘He’s doing OK. He actually showed us an X-Ray a couple of days later, and it looked like a miniature of the Eiffel Tower was in his elbow.’

‘And then the same had to happen with a fracture of his pinky; the joint there was totally messed up, so that needed a bone graft. And the most vulnerable was actually his upper back, the scapula, because they couldn’t put any plates in there or they decided not to do surgery.’

During a surprise show for AIDS relief Monday in New York, Bono was replaced by Bruce Springsteen and Coldplay’s Chris Martin.

U2 announced shows in 19 cities, starting with Vancouver’s Rogers Arena on May 14-15 and ending at the Bercy Arena in Paris on November 10-11. U2 will play two nights in most cities with NYC’s Madison Square Garden, The Forum in LA, and London’s O2 getting four shows. Bono said in a statement:

‘We are going to try to have a completely different feeling from night one to night two … and have some fun playing with the idea of innocence and experience.’

Just a Reminder

I will be on vacation until July 14th. I’ve set up a bunch of posts to autopost while I’m gone, but the Guess Whos will be on vacation until I get back!
